Operation of the Compound  Microscope

v      Clean your lenses with lens paper

v      Set your microscope on the scanning or red lens

v      Focus using the coarse adjustment

v      Change to Low Power, yellow.  Find a portion of the slide where the cells are spread apart

v      Switch to High Power.  Only use the Fine adjustment knob

v      When you believe that you have completed this process  continue below

        Remember to Clean your microscope when you are done and store with the scanning lens in place

Oil Immersion

Repeat focus for the bacteria slide

Make sure that your focus is perfect for high power

Switch the objective to half way between the high and the oil( white)

Place a drop of oil on the slide

Turn oil objective lens into the oil

Check your image and only use fine to adjust
