Introduction

You work for a great travel agency that wants to design a trip for teenagers to a country in Latin America. You have been assigned to a group that is going to describe the country and prepare a trip which will make young people want to go visit this place.

The Task

Each group will design a power point presentation that will make young people want to go to this country.  You must create a name for your agency en español that will reflect your purpose for this project.  You will present the project to the class.  Any "props" necessary to enhance your presentation are encouraged.  (examples: music, clothing, or any other item that would represent your country's culture.)

Each group will consist of three people.  Each member of the group will take on one of the following personalities:

Benita/ Benito Bookworm - Benita Bookworm likes to know all the facts and figures about the places where she travels.  She enjoys reading encyclopedias.  Benita will find out:  the type of government; area and population; the capital and other major cities; major geographical features and  important exports. She will also want to include:  the currency; important holiday celebrations and a visual of the flag.

Carlos / Carlota Culture - Carlos Culture wants to learn all he can about people and places at his destination.  Carlos will find three cultural sites of interest and what is interesting about them.  He will also include any regional dishes that are a must for the group to try.

Fernanda / Fernando Fun - Fernanda Fun is the adventurer of the group.  She will find three activities; sports or natural areas that would be fun to see or do at the destination.  She will also find the best shopping areas for goods that are unique to this destination.

*Include as many pages, props, and pictures that you need to "sell" your country to your clients. If you do not know how to copy pictures from the Internet for your presentation, ask the librarians.  By all means visit a travel agency for additional information.

Resources

The following links will point out places on the Internet that will be available for the learners to use to accomplish the task.
