2010 Varsity Record:  19 - 1

Cherokee Defeats JP Stevens 2 - 0 in Opening Round of NJ State Playoffs.   The Lady Chiefs opened  up playoffs to J.P. Stevens and beat them with scores of 25-12 and 25-7.  Michelle Meehan had 9 kills and 3 aces.  Jenny Huffmire led the team offensively with10 kills.  Claire Bennett and Grace Streicher each added 5 kills to help the Chiefs dominate the game. Come out and support the Lady Chiefs in the second round of playoffs on Friday 11/5 at 4:00 at home vs Eastern HS in the south gym!

The Lady Chiefs Varsity and Junior Varsity ended their season strong Thursday night against, conference rival, Cherry Hill East.  The JV was undefeated their entire season with an 18-0 record.  The Varsity team finish their regular season with a 18-1 record beating East 25-20 and 25-15. Come out and support the Varsity as they open up their first round of playoffs on Tuesday at home against J.P. Stevens with a 4:00 start time.
The Lady Chiefs volleyball team beat Lenape last night in three games. Jenny Huffmire had 7 kills. Grace Streicher had 10 kills, 18 assists, and 5 aces.  Come out and support the Lady Chiefs tonight as they take on Conference rival, Cherry Hill East, for thier senior night game. 

The Lady chiefs beat Northern Burlington last night with scores of 25-23 and 25-15. Michelle Meehan had 7 kills and Melissa Lake had 9 kills.  Grace Streicher had 17 assists. Claire Bennett added to the Chief offense with 4 kills and 4 digs.

 
The volleyball team defeated Rancocas Valley last night with scores of 25-19 and 25-18 to improve thier record to 15-1.  Michelle Meehan had 7 kills and 7 digs.  Grace Streicher had 13 assists and Jenny Huffmire had 6 kills.  Claire Bennett had 4 kills.  The Lady Chiefs play Northern Burlington tonight away.

The Lady Chiefs Volleyball team beat sister school rival, Shawnee, last night with scores of 24-26, 25-17, and 25-15. Grace Streicher had 25 assists and 6 kills.  Michelle Meehan played great defense with 10 digs.  Melissa Lake lad the team offensively with 8 kills, 8 digs, and 7 blocks.

After a tough loss on Thursday's night against Williamstown, the Lady Chiefs Volleyball Team bounced back on Friday night and beat division rival, Washington Township.  They beat them 25-16 and 25-9.  Grace Streicher had 13 assists and 5 aces.  Victoria Gambino had 3 aces and 4 digs.  Melissa Lake led the team offensively with 10 kills. 

Cherokee Loses to Williamstown 2 - 1.

Cherokee volleyball beat sister school rival, Shawnee, last night with scores of 25-14 and 25-13. The Lady Chiefs were led by Michelle Meehan with 8 kills and 4 aces.  Claire Bennett had 5 kills. Melissa Lake had 7 kills and worked hard at the net getting 4 blocks.  Grace Streicher had 17 assists and 7 aces.

The volleyball team beat conference rival, Cherry Hill East, for the first time in years last night.  They won in a 3-game battle. Michelle Meehan had 8 kills and jenny Huffmire had 6 kills.  The Lady chiefs dominated East in the second game led by Jenny Huffmire's 15 service points.  Melissa Lake worked hard at the net with 4 blocks.  Grace Streicher had 14 assists.  Great Win Chiefs!

The Lady Chiefs Volleball team beat Camden County Tech on Friday with scores of 25-10 and 25-10.  They also won the Burlington County Invitational tournament on Saturday by beating Seneca, Moorestown, and Northern Burlington in the playoffs.  Michelle Meehan and Grace Streicher got All-tournament team.  Come out and support the Lady Chiefs today at home as they take on Pennsauken High School.

 

The Lady Chiefs Volleyball team beat Lenape last night with scores of 25-17 and 25-10.  The Chiefs were led by Melissa Lake with 9 kills and 5 blocks.  Grace Streicher had 15 assists and 7 aces.  Claire Bennett had 3 kills and Michelle Meehan had 5 kills.

The Lady Chiefs Volleyball team beat Winslow on Friday with scores of 25-6 and 25-15.  They also played very well in the Cherokee Spiketacular on Saturday, but lost in the final game to Academy of Notre Dame to get runner-up in the tournament.  Come out and support the Lady Chiefs today as they play Lenape in a conference game.

 

The Volleyball team dominated Moorestown last night and won in two games with the score of 25-15 and 25-18.  The Chiefs offense was led by Michelle Meehan and Jenny Huffmire with 5 kills and Melissa Lake with 4 kills.   Grace Streicher set her offense up with 12 assists.  Michelle Meehan served 7 aces and Melissa Lake had 3 blocks. 

 

The Lady Chiefs had a big conference win last night against Eastern.  The match went into 3 games and the Chiefs came out with a victory.  Michelle Meehan led the Chiefs with her strong offense with 19 kills and 6 digs.  Grace Streicher had 27 assists and  Melissa Lake had 7 kills and 5 digs.  Jenny Huffmire added more offense with 6 kills and 5 digs.  Come out and Support the Lady Chiefs for another big game against Moorestown on Wednesday!

2009 Season Results

Girls Volleyball Falls to Williamstown 2 - 1.  Game scores were: 25-18, 30-32, 20-25   Courtney Escudero had 10 kills, 5 digs, and 4 blocks. Brianna McCarthy had 4 serving aces. Michelle Meehan had 8 kills, 3 aces, and 3 digs. Jenny Huffmire had 8 kills. Grace Streicher had 26 assists.  Liz Young had 3 digs.

Girls Volleyball Defeats Rancocas Valley 2 - 0. Games Scores were:  25-18, 25-4  Brianna McCarthy had 3 serving aces and Courtney Escudero had 6 kills.  Grace Streicher had 9 assists and Lauren Ruffalo had 5 digs.

Girls Volleyball Defeated Pennsauken 2- 0 Game Scores were:  25-12, 25-11  The Lady Chiefs put away Pennsauken on Monday with 25-12 and 25-11 victories.  Michelle Meehan had 5 kills and Lauren Ruffalo had 4 digs.

Girls Volleyball Defeated Sterling 2- 0.  Game Scores were:  25-18, 25-16  Cherokee came away with another victory on Friday beating Sterling 25-18 and 25-16.  Liz Young and Jenny Huffmire each had 5 kills and Grace Streicher had 12 assists.

Girls Volleyball Loses 2 - 0 to Cherry Hill East. Game scores: 19-25, 20-25  Lady Chiefs were led by Grace Streicher with  4 assists and  Liz Young with 3 digs.

Girls Volleyball Defeats Washington Twp 2 - 0.  25-13, 25-13  Cherokee dominated the Washington Township Volleyball team in to sets to get thier 4th conference victory. Courtney Escudero led the team with 10 kills and Elizabeth Young had 7 kills while Lauren Ruffalo played defense and had 7 digs. Victoria Gambino had 20 assists leading the Chiefs to thier 8th win of the season.

Sept. 17  Eastern                                                         W        2-1

25-13, 20-25, 25-12  Stats:. Courtney Escudero had 6 aces and Lauren Ruffalo had 6 digs.  The Lady Chiefs Volleyball team came out strong winning the first game against Eastern.  The Chiefs lost the second game from errors and lack of communication, but quickly pulled themselves together and finished the match with a another victory. Tori Gambino led the girls to their second conference win with 18 assists.

Sept. 16  Rancocas Valley                                         W        2-0

25-20,25-4  After making adjustments to the line-up due to illness and injuries Cherokee pulled together and worked hard to beat Rancocas Valley. Theresa Somers dominated in serving as she got 5 aces and led the team to their 2nd game victory.

Sept. 14  Winslow TWP.                                            W        2-0

25-9, 25-9  Continuing to work hard and play fundamentally sound, the Chiefs took on Winslow TWP on Monday the 14th.   Claire Bennett led the team in serving aces and finished off the second game stongly.

Sept. 12  Shawnee                                                      W        2-0

25-22, 25-15  Courtney Escudero had 6 kills and Lauren Ruffalo had 6 digs to help the Lady Chiefs beat sister school rival Shawnee.  Cherokee worked to maintain the lead against Shawnee the entire game and came away with a great Win. 

Sept. 12  Southern Regional                                      L          1-2

23-25, 25-22, 20-25  Cherokee fought hard to beat Southern and barely lost in the third game.  Cherokee played with heart and never gave up.  Michelle Meehan had 13 kills and Grace Streicher had 23 assists.

Sept. 12  Williamstown                                              W        2-1

25-23, 23-25, 25-19  The Lady Chiefs came out Saturday morning ready to play volleyball and showed that in their first game against Williamstown by never giving up.  The girls adjusted to the Williamstown game and played well as a team. Briana McCarthy had 6 serving aces while Michelle Meehan had 10 kills. 

Sept. 11 Clearview Regional High School                W        2-0

25-16, 25-13.  The Volleyball team opened up strong against Clearview on Friday and came away with a great win.  Courtney Escudero, Brianna McCarthy, and Jenny Huffmire all had 7 kills.  Grace streicher had 23 assist leading the team to thier first victory in 2009.
