Boys Lacrosse is Eliminated from the NJ State Playoffs 9 - 4 by # 3 Seed Montclair.

Boys Lacrosse Defeats # 6 Watchung Hills 8 - 6 to Advance to the Quarter Finals of the NJ State Championships.  Junior Matt Dunn's 3 goals and junior Eric Olsen's 2 goals led the Chiefs in the upset of the # 6 seed.  The Chiefs took the lead just before half time on a big score by Eric Olsen and then played tough defense the remainder never relinquishing the lead again. Ryan Trachtenberg, Kevin Sterling and Jon Fisher each scored 1 goal.  The Chiefs iced the game by scoring with 3 seconds remaining. The Chiefs played a great game and continue to improve on their playoff history now getting to the quarter-finals. Cherokee now faces Montclair HS who was an 8 - 4 winner over sister school Lenape.  That game is at Montclair on Fri. 5/ 27 at 4pm - The game will be played at Anderson Park in Montclair

Boys Lacrosse Handles Toms River North 9 - 2 in Opening Round of NJ State Playoffs.  Jon Fisher and Matt Dunn scored 3 goals each to lead the Chiefs to the 1st round victory in the NJ State.  Cherokee defense was dominating allowing only a few Mariner scoring opportunities , mostly in man- down situations.  Chris Tsigiounis played another solid game in the cage for the Chiefs.  Next up the Chiefs travel up the NJ Turnpike to Warren, NJ to face Watchung Hills H.S. on Wed. 5/25 at 6 pm on their Next-turf field. 

Varsity Boys Lacrosse Shuts Out Paul VI 14 - 0 to Finish Regular Season

Varsity Boys Lacrosse Defeats Scrappy Lenape 4 - 2.  The Chiefs knew that their trip to Lenape on Wed. would present a tough Olympic conference game.  The Chiefs got goals from Drew McLaughlin ( pictured - left) , Kevin Sterling, Tim Stahl, and Jon Fisher.  Chiefs defense had a strong game led by long stick defenders Sean Streicher, Justin Gonzales, Chris Parrillo, and goalie Chris Tsigiounis 

Varsity Boys Lacrosse Rolls Past Cherry Hill West 12 - 2.  Senior Jon Fisher (pictured left) led the way for the Chiefs with 3goals and set the tone for the 10 goal win.  Fisher has evolved as a team leader and captain who will be heading to Naval Academy Prep school next year and then onto the U.S. Naval Academy.  Other Chiefs to score were;  Kevin Sterling -2, Drew McLaughlin - 2, Tim Stahl - 2, Matt Dunn - 1, Zach Fisher - 1, and Eric Olsen - 1  

Varsity Boys Lacrosse Gets Revenge on Washington Twp 7 - 4.  The Chiefs got revenge on an earlier season defeat as the jumped to a 5 - 1 half-time lead.  Junior attack Matt Dunn scored 2 goals and Eric Olsen, Jon Fisher, Kevin Sterling, Drew McLaughlin ,& Zach Fisher (pictured -top) each had 1 goal each.

Varsity Boys Lacrosse Defeats Unbeaten Eastern 7 - 5.  Junior Eric Olsen scored 4 goals as he propelled the Chiefs offense and goalie Chris Tsigiounis made 18 saves against the Vikings to lead the Cheifs D.  This is Eastern's first loss of the season and the Chiefs redeem an earlier 1 point loss to the Vikings.  JV Boys Lax also defeated Eastern

Matt Dunn Scores his 100th career goal in Boys Lacrosse.  Junior Matt Dunn scored his 100th career goal vs Vineland on Monday, making him the first player in school history ever to score 100 goals in boys lacrosse.  Matt tallied 4 goals on the afternoon to finish the game with 102 goals.  Coach Viereck presented Matt's parents with the ball during the timeout that followed the 100th goal.  Matt also is leading South Jersey in goals scored this season.

Boys Lacrosse Dominates Vineland 15 - 1.  The Chiefs dominated a struggling Vineland squad with Matt Dunn's 4 goals, Kevin Sterling's 3 goals, and Tim Stahl's 3 goals.  Other Chiefs to score were;  Ryan Trachtenberg - 2 goals, Drew McLaughlin , Eric Olsen  , Brian Shinder and Adam White each with 1 goals apiece.

Boys Lacrosse Trounces West Deptford 14 - 2.  Chiefs played a great game jumping to a 10 - 0 half time lead and got some great goals by Kevin Sterling, Matt Dunn, and Drew McLaughlin.  Goalie Chris Tsigiounis had a shutout through the 3 quarters that he played today.  

Varsity Boys Lacrosse Defeats Cherry Hill East 15 - 1 The Chiefs dominated the 1st year program at East as 7 players scored in the game.  Junior attack Eric Olsen led the Chiefs with 6 goals on the afternoon. Other Chiefs to score were Matt Dunn ( 2 ), Drew McLaughlin  (2 ), Tim Stahl ( 2 ), George Braker , Kevin Sterling, and Adam White. JV Boys Lacrosse Defeated St. Joeseph's of Hammonton 6 - 3 to remain Unbeaten this season

Boys Lacrosse Dominates Against Seneca 17 - 3

Boys Lacrosse Defeats Scrappy Lenape Squad  9  -  6.  Junior attack Matt Dunn continues to lead South Jersey in scoring this season and added to it vs. Lenape with 3 goals.  Jon Fisher returned to the line up from  injury to score 2 goals.  Eric Olsen had 2 goals and Kevin Sterling and Tim Stahl each had one goal apiece.

Boys Lacrosse Defeats Kingsway 16 - 3.  Junior attack Matt Dunn scored 5 goals to lead the Chiefs to the victory.  Cherokee also got goals from;  Kevin Sterling ( 3 ), Drew McLaughlin ( 3 ), Eric Olsen ( 2 ), Zach Fisher ( 2 ), and Brian Shinder

Boys Lacrosse Defeats Cherry Hill East 14 - 1.  Cherokee goals were by Eric Olsen (3), Matt Dunn (3), Kevin Sterling (3)(pictured left), Zach VanFossen, Ryan Trachtenberg, Brian Shinder, Drew McLaughlin and Ryan Johnson. 

Varsity Boys Lacrosse Loses to Highly Ranked Ramapo 17 - 7.  Chiefs goals were by :  Eric Olsen ( 2 ), Kevin Sterling ( 2 ), Jon Fisher, Zach Fisher, and George Braker

Boys Lacrosse Gets Upset by Eastern 6 - 5.  The Chiefs fell behind early and played catch up for the entire second half after being down 6 - 2 at half.  Chiefs made a serious comeback attempt in the 2nd half but fell just 1 goal short.  Chiefs goals were by; Drew Mc Laughlin (2), Matt Dunn, Jon Fisher and Eric Olsen  

Boys Lacrosse Shuts Out Vineland 14 - 0.  Junior Matt Dunn scored a career high 8 goals to lead the Chiefs attack.  Junior goalie Chris Tsigiounis continues his stellar play in the cage with the shut out for the Chiefs.

Boys Lacrosse Crushes Camden Catholic 16 - 6

Boys Lacrosse Loses a "Dog Fight"  to Shawnee 8 - 6 under the Lights at Cherokee Stadium.  The Chiefs played a great game led by junior goalie Chris Tsigiounis who made some incredible saves holding the high powered Renegades to only 8 goals.  Coach Viereck and Shawnee's Coach Gushue both said that Chris's performance in goal was one of the best ever.  Junior Eric Olsen had a big night playing attack and scoring 2 goals with an assist.  Sophomore Drew McLaughlin had a break out night with 2 goals and 2 assists.   The Chiefs defense played great led by senior Sean Streicher, junior Chris Parillo, and senior Zach Nord.  Overall a sound performance by the Chiefs who look to make a run at the conference championship this season.
